PARTNERS IN CONSERVATION

TD Friends of the Enviroment Foundation (TD FEF) and the Wild Elk Federation
(WEF)have teamed up as "Partners in Conservation". Pictured
is the WEF's first elk trailer that was funded by TD FEF. This is the
first of three trailers the WEF hopes to aquire through funding requests
to support the WEF's elk relocation program. The trailers, though owned
by the WEF, will be made available to the conservation community as
the need arises for similar wildlife relocation projects.
The WEF would like to thank TD Friends of the Enviroment Foundation
for their gracious support.

Local
Group Involved in Alberta Elk Release
Eighty-six elk were
successfully relocated from Elk Island National Park to two release
sites west of Rocky Mountain House on Wednesday March 7th.
The elk, originally
slated for an elk reintroduction program to the state of Tennessee were
blocked entry into the United States after entry documentation concerns
by the USDA. Tennessee's loss became Alberta's gain thanks to the cooperative
efforts of a dedicated group of wildlife managers and conservation minded
volunteers from the Wild Elk Federation.
