WEF'S
"KOINS for KIDS"
FUNDS
KIDS TO KAMP
The Wild Elk Federation has provided funding for two
future conservationists to attend the Cenalta Youth Conservation
Academy.
The Academy which was held July 20th - 25th, 2008 near Breton , Alberta
offered a unique experience for youths aged 12-15 years of age.
It was not only educational, but offered the opportunity for meeting
new friends while participating in many outdoor recreational activities.
The theme of the camp was to simulate a tent survival camp with everyone
working as a team and taking care of their own personal hygiene and
belongings.
Through film presentations, and small group activities, participants
examined the components of: Firearm Safety and Handling, Archery, Water
Safety, and Hunter Education. Other activities may have included: bird
watching, leadership, night sky, fishing equipment and boat operator's
pleasure craft certificate.
Funding was provided through the Wild Elk Federations
"Koins for Kids" program where monies raised in this program
are directed specifically to community youth wildlife conservation activities.
The Wild Elk Federation, headquartered in Leduc, Alberta is a nonprofit
wildlife conservation organization whose mission is to ensure the future
