The Wild Elk Federation

The Wild Elk Federation is a Canadian wildlife conservation organization established in 2006. The federation's headquarters are in Leduc, Alberta and its membership and chapters are located in the western provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.

Our Mission

Our mission statement is simple and straight forward:
To ensure the future of elk and other wildlife.

In support of this mission, the Wild Elk Federation is committed to:

  • conserving, restoring, and enhancing wildlife habitat;
  • promoting the sound management of wild, free-ranging elk;
  • fostering cooperation among national, provincial, and private organizations and individuals in wildlife management and habitat conservation; and
  • educating members and the public about habitat conservation and wildlife management.

The Wild Elk Federation is not a political advocacy organization and does not lobby or litigate. This apolitical stance allows the organization to steer clear of potential divisive debates and concentrate on its core functions - wildlife enhancement, the preservation of critical habitat and conservation education.
